Why we specify HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene)

A better line from the ground up.

There are several conventional pipe choices, and each has a place in the right application. For the new mains we install, all of those conventional options are inferior to HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene).

01

Water mains

HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene) vs. conventional water-line materials

Water mains have traditionally been made from copper, galvanized steel, PEX, CPVC, and PVC. All five are inferior to fused HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene) for our new water mains, which gives you a seamless, flexible, root-proof line with no glue joints or seams to fail.

Our choice: HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene) with fused joints.

02

Sewer lines

HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene) vs. conventional sewer materials

Sewer lines have traditionally been made from PVC, cast iron, and clay. All three are inferior to HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene) for our sewer replacements, where fusion creates one monolithic, leak-resistant line that is resistant to root intrusion.

Not every property or application is the same. We’ll look at the line, the site, and the repair plan, then explain the recommendation in plain English.

Confidence in every new install

The warranty tells the story.

Every new installation comes with clear coverage from S.O.L., with separate long-term material protection when HDPE is used.

5

S.O.L. installation warranty

Parts + labor

ALL new installations—not only water main or sewer replacements—come with S.O.L.’s 5-year parts and labor warranty. It is transferable, so the protection can stay with the property if ownership changes.

100

Manufacturer material warranty

Years in the ground

For new HDPE installations, the manufacturer separately warrants the HDPE material for 100 years in the ground against failure.

Two layers of protection: S.O.L. stands behind every new installation, and the manufacturer stands behind the HDPE material.

01

We find the cause

Drain cleaning and camera inspections identify and locate trouble areas in sewer and drain lines. Same-day video can be delivered to a wireless laptop, your device, or an email address.

02

We build with HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene)

Every sewer line replacement and water main replacement uses HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene) pipe with fused joints, whether the work is trenchless or requires full excavation. Unlike conventional PVC with glue joints, cured-in-place pipeliners, and similar older methods, HDPE (Heavy-Duty Polyethylene) fusion creates a seamless, monolithic, root-proof, leak-resistant line. There are no glue joints or seams to fail, making it a strong long-term choice for our installs. ALL new installations come with an industry-leading, transferable 5-year parts and labor warranty.

03

We work trenchless or in a trench

Not every application can be trenchless. We recommend the right approach for the line, the property, and the repair—trenchless when it makes sense, or full excavation when the work calls for it.

04

We handle the rest, too

Water heater repair and installation, general residential and commercial plumbing, drain cleaning, camera inspections, and more are all part of the same clear, professional service.

Their prompt response and professional service are exceptional. Saved me time and money.
